How do I merge duplicate exercises?

If you have logged the same movement under two different exercises, you can move all the sets from one into the other so your history ends up in one place. In the app this is called Transfer Exercise Data.

The steps are the same on iPhone and Android.

How to merge two exercises

  1. Open a workout that contains the exercise you want to get rid of.
  2. Tap the three dots next to the exercise name to open the exercise menu.
  3. Choose Settings.
  4. Scroll down and tap Transfer Exercise Data.
  5. Pick the exercise you want to keep from the list.
  6. Confirm the warning.

What happens to your data

  • Every set logged against the exercise you started from moves over to the exercise you picked, so your history, charts and personal records stay complete.
  • The exercise you started from is deleted.
  • This cannot be undone, so check that you have picked the right exercise to keep before you confirm.
  • You merge one pair at a time. If you have three versions of the same exercise, repeat the steps for each extra one.

It is worth doing this before you build up much history under both names, since charts and personal records treat two similarly named exercises as two completely separate movements.
